What does a Learning Disability Educational Consultant do?

As a Learning Disability (LD) Educational Consultant, Dr. Danielak helps families make the right decision regarding school placement for a child who learns differently. She brings first-hand knowledge of school and program opportunities, stays abreast of constant changes in the field of education, spends time with the student and family to explore and process best placement options, provides testing or evaluation when needed, coordinates with other professionals, follows up with students and/or staff in the school placement which then overall optimizes your child’s academic potential and talent development. LD Educational Consultants visits and evaluates schools and programs to help match the students’ needs with the school programs.

 

Dr. Mary Danielak, is a Clinical Psychologist who has 25 years of experience and is the owner and founder of The Counseling and Development Center - a private practice in a northern suburb of Atlanta with a multidisciplinary group of clinicians. Dr. Danielak has tested and assisted families with education and placement decisions of over 1600 children from the ages of 5-25 and supervises and trains post-doctoral fellows. Her neuropsychological assessments diagnose learning differences such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Executive Function Deficits and Autism.

 

She was a “Field Researcher” on the DSM-V in 2013. She also assisted in field research with the gathering of norms for the United States regarding, AULA Virtual Reality Test, a new state-of-the art virtual reality attention measure in 2016. She enjoys being part of field research and always keeps abreast of new developments in the field. She has given hundreds of lectures as well as teacher and parent trainings about ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Executive Functioning Deficits, and Learning Differences, as well as consulted for The American School in Switzerland.
